Saturday - April 4th

It was a gorgeous day today. The sun was shining and it got up to about 60 degrees. So after I finally got up, got showered and dressed and my hair was dry, Brownee and I went out for a walk around the neighborhood. We were joined by Lynn and Ripley. We maintain our physical distance by walking on opposite sides of the street. We talked to numerous neighbors who were out in their yards, or were out walking themselves.

Fed-Ex delivered my CTMH order - watercolor paints and brushes. Tomorrow I hope to play a bit with them. We probably should stay in because it is going to be colder and my legs are giving me issues (they really hurt). It just might be a good day to put on Netflix, settle into the couch, and try to create a background or three.

One thing is for certain, it is getting harder for me to stay awake much beyond 8:30, if I don't take an afternoon nap. And if I do take an afternoon nap, then I can't get to sleep ever.

Tuesday - the last day of March

I slept in - I slept in until 10am. It is getting harder to convince myself to get up in the morning. At least I did take a shower this morning, something I didn't do yesterday.

And we did get out and walk. I put Jesus Christ Superstar on Spotify and we just started moving. I let Brownee lead the way. We saw very few people while we were out. None on the streets of the Lakes. A bicycle passed us while we were on the Trail. There were a few other walkers. I don't know where they all are. People are really just staying in their houses.

Sunday

Whoa! I almost went this entire day without doing a post. I kept myself fairly busy, I guess.

Brownee and I walked the Trail all the way to McDonald's. I had hoped to get an order of chicken nuggets and an iced tea but that was not to be. I couldn't get the app to work correctly. So we walked back home. There were lots of people out on the Trail today. People on bikes, people with dogs, and just people. Brownee was holding it together up until the very end when she just lost it. Fortunately we only had to go from Hidden Lakes to the cut through and we were then back onto the Lakes property. She just gets so over stimulated.

People walking by us got a kick out of her pink hoodie. It came in yesterday's mail. I wish it had the buttonhole for the harness so I could put it underneath the hoodie but it was $17 cheaper than the ones that come with the buttonhole - enough said.

I knitted the afternoon away. Also watched the TV program Vera. Had macaroni and cheese for lunch, and then rice and hamburger for dinner. I had a bit of a migraine much of the afternoon. It rained late in the afternoon.

Saturday's Walk

We finally got outside! It has been raining all day, after raining all night. Once around the big lake and then over to the mailbox and back to the house.

I also took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. Sitting around is quite tiring.

Thursday's Walk

Unless it rains, and it isn't supposed to, probably walk number one.

Many more people out walking this morning. I didn't even bother to count how many I saw. Most were walking a dog. I got an answer to my question earlier this morning - I couldn't walk all the way into Wadhams. I barely made it as far as I did this morning. I need a nap.

I found a hat pattern to use with the bulky yarn I bought from Premieryarns. It is rather basic. But I want something basic to show off the patterning of the yarn.

Second Walk

After taking a two hour nap, Brownee and I took another walk. This one was 1.65 miles, 50 minutes long, at a 30 minute pace. I didn't take any photos on this walk. Eventually I did pick up the mail. Another exciting package in that. This one contained the few things I ordered from Ken Oliver Crafts. I probably should stop spending money.

When we got back home neighbor John was at the door. He brought down three packages of hamburger and some tenderloin from the store he works at. I gladly added those to my freezer. I will be taking him the three frozen spaghetti dinners in the near future.

Back to our walk. There were a lot more people out this afternoon than there were this morning. Probably because the sun is now shining and the temperature is up now into the 50s.

I read this today. I think it would make a good card greeting - I'm not practicing "social" distancing, I'm practicing "physical" distancing! So while we might be separated physically, I can still reach out with a big virtual hug, and a postcard to let you know I'm thinking about you today!

Daily Walk - Wednesday

So here it is Wednesday. I nearly forgot about posting here on my blog today. I was already out on my walk when it entered my mind. One thing I did notice about myself today is that I am not in too good of a mood. I had hoped that getting outside would clear it out but nope, didn't happen.

Brownee and I picked it up and cut a minute off of our pace. But the problem with that is I couldn't handle distance. Of course I've been sitting for the past few months more than walking, so my stamina isn't up to where it was last summer. It will get back to where it was with time.

Today we only saw a couple of people outside while we were walking. One was on the Trail and the other was walking to her car. There were only a couple of cars moving about withing the park. People must be settling in.

When we got home there was exciting mail from Fed-ex. The yarn I ordered from Premier yarns! Now I have something to work with while I am sitting on the couch.

Today's Walk

It's a bit warmer out today than it was yesterday, by about 5 degrees or so. I took Brownee out for a much longer walk. We both needed to get out of the house, that's for sure.

We started out by heading to the Wadhams to Avoca Trail and walked down it until we came to the cut-through that goes back into the Lakes. We saw several others walking, six I believe is what I counted. No one I knew. Getting back onto the Lakes property got us back into what seems like a ghost town. There is no one out and about except us and a couple of cars.

We did stop at one neighbor's house, at Mark's, to check on him. He lives alone, like me. I wanted to offer him the three frozen spaghetti dinners I bought that have mushrooms in them but he doesn't eat mushrooms either. Oh well, I will find someone who does.

Afternoon Walk

Brownee and I went out for our daily walk. The neighborhood was empty. I suppose the fact that it's only 35 degrees is also keeping people inside, not just the order to shelter at home.

Actually we did see one person at the mailbox. And there were several cars coming and going.

The man at the mailbox told me our community office was closed, that a phone number was posted on the door for a contact in an emergency. I'm guessing our park manager doesn't think she is essential services.
