Today's Walk

It's a bit warmer out today than it was yesterday, by about 5 degrees or so. I took Brownee out for a much longer walk. We both needed to get out of the house, that's for sure.

We started out by heading to the Wadhams to Avoca Trail and walked down it until we came to the cut-through that goes back into the Lakes. We saw several others walking, six I believe is what I counted. No one I knew. Getting back onto the Lakes property got us back into what seems like a ghost town. There is no one out and about except us and a couple of cars.

We did stop at one neighbor's house, at Mark's, to check on him. He lives alone, like me. I wanted to offer him the three frozen spaghetti dinners I bought that have mushrooms in them but he doesn't eat mushrooms either. Oh well, I will find someone who does.

Public Safety Message

This just came through on my phone:

From the Executive Office of the Governor: The State of Michigan's Stay Home Stay Safe order takes effect at midnight tonight. Nonessential travel is prohibited. As necessary, you may leave your home for health and safety reasons, to get groceries and supplies, for certain outdoor activities, and to care for others. See www.michigan.gov/coronavirus

I am now feeling very cut off from the world.

Afternoon Walk

Brownee and I went out for our daily walk. The neighborhood was empty. I suppose the fact that it's only 35 degrees is also keeping people inside, not just the order to shelter at home.

Actually we did see one person at the mailbox. And there were several cars coming and going.

The man at the mailbox told me our community office was closed, that a phone number was posted on the door for a contact in an emergency. I'm guessing our park manager doesn't think she is essential services.

SAH Order

Yep, she did.

"(WXYZ) - Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a "Stay home, stay safe" executive order on Monday morning, going into effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday and lasting at least three weeks.
Critical services will remain open, and people will be allowed to leave to go to grocery stores, pharmacies, to take care of family members, and you can still go outside for walks, runs, hikes and more. Just maintain social distancing. Also remaining open will be banks, gas stations and more.
Schools will also remain closed until April 13."

We are joining Ohio, California, Illinois and a few other states in this.

Covid 19 - Isolation

I decided to revive my blog to keep a diary of sorts of my days of isolation, due to the worldwide virus, Covid 19 - also known as - Coronavirus.

It is believed that today the Governor of Michigan will issue a Stay at home order for the state. I have been doing that for several days now. I haven't left the house for non-essential reasons since March 14th. I did go to the pharmacy on the 17th, but used the drive-through, and to the grocery store on the 18th. But both of those trips are considered essential, even under a SAH order.
