We learned some horrible news this morning. A neighbor from our old neighborhood committed suicide yesterday. Just closed up his garage, turned on his truck, and laid down on a bench.
What is really horrible about this is that we learned he took the "easy" way out. He had just been caught, and confessed to, molesting several little girls. Evidently he had been doing this for several years, because some of the girls were friends of my boys.
We lived across the street from this man for 25 years and never suspected a thing. He hated my fellas and their friends, who happened to live next door to him, always yelling at them for making too much noise when they were playing basketball in the driveway and other such nonsense. We always just wrote it off to the fact that his sons and ours didn't get along. I am now glad they didn't.
